Welcome to our website

  • Whether you were looking for this website intentionally, or came across it when searching for something else, you are equally welcome. We hope you find its contents informative and interesting.

  • Woodbank Evangelical Church is an independent Bible-based church which opened the doors of its present building on New Year’s Day 1940. It was then situated between two developing suburban housing estates on the southern fringes of Whitehaven. The area is now undergoing a facelift following the demise of a large chemical works.

  • In 2003-2004 extensive alterations were made both inside and outside the church building to provide for the needs of the disabled and to make it more user friendly. On completion we called a fulltime pastor and under his ministry the work moved forward on several fronts.

  • At present the church is without a pastor, and is led by its two Elders who are looking for a Youth Leader to assist in the work.

  • Our aim is set out in our Mission Statement below....

  • The Church is a registered charity - No 1115463.

  • The Church has a Child Protection Policy and statutory checks are carried out on all youth workers.

  • We have access and facilities for the disabled.
